Let's get to know eachother.

I'm Jay (He/They), a queer, disabled, 21 yr old artist from Chicago, IL. I briefly attended School of the Art Institute Chicago on scholarship with a major in Studio Art, but unfortunately had to put my education on hold after serious health issues arose. Now, I'm working to get my work out there on my own and save up to continue my education. I work across a variety of mediums, with my focus being Acrylic/Mixed-Media Painting and Digital Art. My art is unique, colorful, and at times unsettling, touching on themes of trauma, childhood, and the distortion of memory. I hope to create art that gives a voice to the inner child of trauma victims, and showcases the strange, whimsical, and sometimes bizarre nature of the way we interpret our past.

About Me

I create art that's focused on interpreting life through a vivid and emotionally compelling lense. My work is colorful, maximalist, and creative, centering around distortions of memory and perception. Much of my work illustrates trauma, childhood, and how the world looks through the eyes of The Other. My most recent project, Me and The Dog-Woman, follows the perspective of a young girl as she navigates through a nonsensical and at times disturbing world, followed by abstract creatures and bizarre events, symbolizing the traumas she encounters but cannot understand. The series is characterized by overwhelming colors and textures, reoccurring characters, and disturbing themes recontextualized through the eyes of a child. My hope as an artist is to reach those that feel they experience the world differently, and illustrate what it feels like to navigate a complex maze of life that no one else can see.
